Some of you ought to be quite happy with me. I'm finally watching the new BBC miniseries of Jane Eyre!!! I've gotten through part one and will finish it tomorrow. Wow. It is so good. Georgie as young Jane was great; a pity she did not have more screentime. Ruth Wilson is amazing, how much she reveals just by her facial expressions. Toby Stephens isn't a sight for sore eyes I'll admit. He still has some work to do if he wants to make a fangirl out of me though. Loved the first meeting between Jane and Rochester in the mist. The cinematography is beautiful. The miniseries is way creepier than the book. There were parts that sent shivers down my spine. The book didn't scare me in the least.

Thank you everyone who has kept telling me I had to watch Jane Eyre -- you all know who you are! ;)

Smeagol – the family computer – has issues again. Poor guy, and he was doing so well after being knocked out by a thunder storm for two weeks at the beginning of the summer. It wouldn’t start up correctly this morning and I had to keep restarting it. When it finally got all set up, we discovered e-mail was not working, and is still out of service. My dad had to put in a new mouse because the old one kept dying. The worst thing though was that, unexplainably, I somehow lost two one-shots I started yesterday. I cannot figure out what happened because I saved both documents and they should have been fine; but this morning they were gone. Yet all my other writings were accounted for. I hope nothing like that happens again.

On the plus side, I managed to rewrite one of the plot bunnies, the whole thing. So I’m glad about that. Read more... )

*sigh* How I wish we Americans could get BBC! The lucky UK is getting Jane Eyre! Read more... )
