jump in with a splash!
Feb. 12th, 2009 08:58 pmI'm rediscovering my love for George MacDonald's The Princess and the Goblin.
Yesterday I re-watched the cartoon for the first time in nearly three years. Before I had been disappointed, mainly with the animation and changes that made (can't remember which ones). Well, when I watched it this time...I had a total change of heart about it. For the first time I liked the animation. I liked how the story was told. And I really enjoyed Irene being captured by the goblin prince (forget his name) and the castle being flooded; it was a neat dramatic change from the book. Curdie and Irene were so cute togehter... I'm still upset they didn't share a real kiss. A very enjoyable film.
Now I'm going PatG crazy! I actually found icons for it!!! (Check out my userpics and profile.) SQUEE! And new awesome fanfiction "Gone"!!!!
Everyone: Go read the book and check out the cartoon (Part 1 is here)!!!

Happy, happy day! After requesting about a dozen times during the last year, FanFiction.Net finally has a category for The Princess and the Goblin! *dances about*
I wish a live action film would be made of the book. There is a cartoon version, but is it quite disappointing. And Curdie and Irene don't share a real kiss like in the book. *pout* But they are cute together...
