Zhang and Zhang 2006 Olympics

Zhang and Zhang winning the silver medal in pairs figuring skating competition at the Turin Olympics was one of the most memorable highlights of the games for me. Her fall was so scary and yet it was unbelievable she went on and finished the program. Theirs was a courageous and moving performance (and wonderful choice of music). I don't think I'll forget that for a very long time.

I love them!!! I have a tape of the pair's competition, and I just watched it again a few weeks ago. I felt soooo, sooooo bad when she hurt herself because I had wanted the Russian team to win and I yelled "Fall!" right when he threw her. That was the last time I've shouted anything like that to the TV during a sports program. I felt so bad I cried. Seriously.

They are an awesome pair for finishing great like that. I wonder if they'll be competing in the next Olympics or if they've retired. Hmmmm... Would they have that kind of information yet? I might go check it out right now.

They are beautiful skaters. I saw the pair's competition live and gasped when she fell.

I don't know if they've retired or not. I'm not sure how -- and when -- ice skaters decide if they will try to compete in the Olympics.

My eyeballs were glued to the tv during the Winter Olympics. When Apolo Ohno did his thing I was holding my breath without realizing it at times. I can't wait to see him again. And maybe some "Italin Ice" as they came to be known, just to see what will they do next time. LOL That girl had issues, I felt sorry for her partner.

Really, the only time I've been glued to the TV is when the Olympics are on. Apolo yes! I was so happy when he won the gold in the 500m; and that 5000m relay was so exciting! He is very good.

Yay, that stare at the end of the skaters' performance... I wonder if they will try for the next Winter Olympics.
