i could have skated all night

This is the second year I'm following the figure skating season from start to finish. (I blame my college roommate for making me take an interest in skating as more than a once-every-four-years-Olympic-event when she turned on Skate America 2011 on the TV, and introduced me to ice dancing!) This weekend was the last of the Grand Prix Series events before the Grand Prix Final, Cup of Russia. And it was... AGRRHHHHHH! If the judging that happened there occurs at the Olympics next year, I don't think my poor nerves will be able to handle it!

So to help me forget this disappointing competition, here are some of the performances I personally enjoyed during the series. Can't wait for the final!

Yeah, I haven't seen CoR yet, but I heard the short dance judging was insane!

I love Ashley's R&J routine, though I wish she'd go back to the old dress!

I think my jaw dropped when I saw that Ricky Dornbush came second in the free. That boy has SO MUCH TALENT; he just needs to get it all together and have his breakthrough. I hope and pray he has it soon!!

Yes, in my opinion the SD judging was really something. It definitely has now made me nervous for how that discipline may go down at the Olympics!

Count me as a fan of Ashley's R&J (big fan of Prokofiev)! I think I prefer her first dress too.

I've had a soft spot for Ricky ever since he won the silver at Nationals back in...2011 was it? He is very talented. I hope he can put it all together!!
