end of the year meme
Jan. 2nd, 2011 03:26 pmA cool meme stolen from
softfallen.
Your main fandom of the year? Tie between Peter Pan and Chronicles of Narnia.
Your favorite film watched this year? At the movies: Toy Story 3 (Seriously, who knew toys could make one cry!). At home: Peter Pan (2003) and Wall-E.
Your favorite book read this year? Another tie: First The Giver by Lois Lowry; this book really tugged on my heart strings. I found it almost scary as gradually more about the world -- earth -- Jonas and his family lived in was revealed. It helps one see what a rich world we live in. Second, Shadow of the Almighty: The Life and Testament of Jim Elliot by Elisabeth Elliot was a powerful, thought provoking biography about the missionary; very rich, deep reading. Both books highly recommended.
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year? Prokofiev's melodrama Eugene Onegin has been my favorite album; song of the year is a toss up between "The Power of the Cross" and "Grown Up Christmas List."
Your favorite TV show of the year? Inspector Lewis! What a duo he and Hathaway make. :D
Your favorite community of the year?
littledorritbbc!!
Your best new fandom discovery of the year? Howl's Moving Castle. Amazing book, and have been finding awesome fanfiction. :)
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year? Does not getting to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader yet count?!
Your TV boyfriend of the year? No one.
Your TV girlfriend of the year? *blinks* Er, same as above.
Your biggest squee moment of the year? M. Paul Emanuel declaring his love to Lucy before departing for the West Indies in Bronte's Villette.
The most missed of your old fandoms? Lord of the Rings -- I miss my sweet Sam/Rosie. *sigh*
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to? ...Coming up with a blank.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year? Hoping for more Lewis... Wishing for a miniseries of Peter Pan.
