I like the differences that you point out. They did change things. Though to be fair, not as much as Disney did.
Disney changed SO MUCH about the story that I felt the story was scarcly recognizable.
I personlly loved the changes that they made for the 2003 film. I thought that the story flowed better and was more believable.
I loved that Wendy was a 'lady' but she had a backbone. She didn't just sit there like a weak, meek, defenseless sissy-girl.
