25. Favorite family connection (i.e. sister-sister, mother-daughter, brother-sister, etc.)

NA -- Elinor and Henry. They have a sweet sibling relationship.

26. Favorite casting cameo from the films.
Hugh Laurie as Mr. Palmer in S&S 1995. His performance is funny and surprisingly moving.

S&S 1995 -- "And I believe I know what key you will sing in. "F" major," Sir John Middleton

28. Favorite moment from the films.
P&P 1995 -- Mrs. Bennet freaking out about Bingley arriving to propose and Jane isn't yet dressed. I burst out laughing every single time it goes from Mrs. Bennet running, calling for Hill to Bingley and the ladies silently sitting in the parlor.

29. Favorite character back story or secret.
Colonel Brandon's sad past always makes my heart go out to him. *sniff*

30. Character you most relate to.
I see a lot of myself in Elinor Dashwood and Fanny Price.

From youlighttheskyfanfiction:

"Pick a fandom. Pick a pairing. (Or if you write original fic, pick a pair of characters in a certain verse of yours.)

Every month you get a colour and a fairy tale.

Draw or write a fic for your pairing/fandom/original work based on the colour and fairy tale. Post at the end of the month. Can be any length or medium you want.

You don’t have to all the months (but wouldn’t that be a challenge?), you can even pick and choose certain months. You also don’t have to do the same fandom/pairing for each prompt (but it would be awesome if you did.)

Have fun!

Randomly stumbled over this. Looks very interesting. Fairy tales...pairing...colors... May give it a try!

19. Moment that made you laugh while reading.

P&P -- Mr. Collins' proposal to Elizabeth. Hysterical.
rosa_cotton: (fear and assurence)
18. Moment that made you smile/happy while reading.

MP -- Edmund telling Fanny how he broke things off with Mary. No, the scene itself is not happy, 'cause Edmund is pained over discovering Mary's true colors, but he is finally free and his own man again, and he did the right thing.
rosa_cotton: (black and white)
17. Moment that made you sad/cry while reading.

S&S -- Elinor thinking Edward and Lucy Steele were married.

MP -- Tom almost dying.

P&P -- Jane not expecting Bingley to return to Netherfield.
rosa_cotton: (R/C)
16. Least favorite film adaptation.

P&P 2003 -- a loose modern-day version of which I don't remember much except for disliking it.

P&P 2005 -- while visually and musically stunning with a couple standout performances, this version really disappoints me with its characterizations and plot changes.

S&S 1981 -- only saw it once and found it very boring.

NA 1987 -- an adaptation featuring weird 'rock' music, queer gothic fantasies, and some wooden performances. Reason for sticking out in my mind: the only Jane Austen adaptation which tries to insert the classic "love at first sight" moment with Henry and Catherine staring at each other when they first meet while Mrs. Allen rambles on about her dress.
rosa_cotton: (close yet far)
15. Favorite love confession from the films.

Bingley/Jane (P&P 2005)

"Yes. A thousand times times, yes!"

Edmund/Fanny (MP 2007)

"I love you. I was blind. Forgive me."

Edward/Elinor (S&S 2008)

"Can you forgive me? Can you love me? Will you marry me?"

Edward/Elinor (S&S 1995)

"My heart is, and always will be, yours."

Henry/Catherine (NA 2007)

"Will you marry me, Catherine?"
"Yes! Yes I will! Yes!"
rosa_cotton: (Happy)
13. Least favorite Austen man.

Hero: Mr. Darcy

Anti-hero: Henry Crawford

14. Favorite love confession from the books.
Mr. Knightley's declaration in Emma. ...I know, makes complete sense considering I'm not a fan of the book or of Emma. One of those unexplainable mysteries.
rosa_cotton: (Double)
12. Least favorite Austen heroine.

Emma Woodhouse

rosa_cotton: (Can it be Christine?)
"You are Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. You’re a little bit of a conundrum. You probably love to travel and see new things, but you shirk the spotlight and aren’t very comfortable around people. You’re your own harshest critic, but you’re great at solving problems, whether you know it or not. Mysterious and more than a little bit shy, you see music and art as an emotional outlet and important form of expression for the occasionally overwhelming moments in everyday life." (http://www.weta.org/fm/support/composers)

I guess that describes me pretty well. And Tchaikovsky IS my favorite classical composer. :)
rosa_cotton: (once again she is his)
11. Least favorite book.

Changes depending on my frame of mind or mood; either Emma or Pride and Prejudice.
rosa_cotton: (close yet far)
10. Most frustrating family member.

Aunt Norris

rosa_cotton: (close yet far)
9. Most hated foe of a heroine.

Lucy Steele

She is horrible, torturing Elinor with her engagement to Edward, and later dumping him for Robert. And she knows exactly what pain she is inflicting.

A close second is Mary Crawford (at least she doesn't know of Fanny's love for Edmund).
rosa_cotton: (close yet far)
8. Least favorite couple.

Please don't hate me....!

Mr. Darcy/Elizabeth

I am sorry, but this couple frustrates me so much. In both the book and various film adaptations I am less interested in them and instead find myself caring more about P&P's "second couple" Bingley and Jane. *ducks for cover*
